Colin Stretch promoted to vice President and General Counsel of Facebook

Mr. Colin Stretch has joined Facebook on February 2010 as Deputy General Counsel and Vice President. He is promoted to Vice President and General Counsel of Facebook. He will begin his new position on July 5, 2013. He will lead Facebook's legal and security departments.

"Colin has been an instrumental leader on the Facebook legal team and has earned the trust and confidence of management, the Board of Directors and our entire company. We are very excited to have him as our new General Counsel," said Sheryl Sandberg, Chief Operating Officer of Facebook.

Before joining Facebook in 2010, he was a partner at Kellogg Huber Hansen Todd Evans & Figel in Washington DC. He previously clerked for Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer and U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Laurence Silberman, and was an honors program attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School. Stretch is a native San Franciscan who lives in the Bay Area with his wife and children.

Prior to Colin, Ted Ullyot was the Vice President and General Counsel of Facebook since October 2008. He served company for more than 4 and half years. He announced his intension to leave company on May 10, 2013. He sold 34,180 Facebook class-A shares at $24.509 each and still he has 456,042 shares. He also worked in White House as associate Counsel and as a deputy assistant to President George W. Bush.
